Luis Lopez
Luis Lopez was born in San Luis Potosi Mexico and migrated to Beaumont Texas with his family at the age of 7. The first in his family to graduate from high school, Lopez continued his education at Lamar University. In Fall of 2010, Lopez, along with five other Lamar leaders, founded the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In Spring of 2011, Lopez merged his passion for education with the political process by managing a school board campaign.
Upon earning both his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Science of Accounting from Lamar University in 2012, he joined Deloitte & Touche’s audit department and permanently made the city of Houston his home. Lopez later joined National Oilwell Varco (NOV) as a Project Accountant and over saw multiple multi-million-dollar projects. In 2014, determined to give the west side of Harris County a progressive voice in our state capital, Luis ran an aggressive campaign as the Democratic candidate for State Representative District 132.
In November of 2015 Lopez acquired a Farmers Insurance Agency and began his career as an entrepreneur. Eager to grow and continue to serve his community Lopez expanded his business model and opened an Income Tax preparation agency in Pasadena Texas.
